Given that we were locked down for most of the year, not a bad year all in all! Summer 2020 Anne Vaughan's beautiful stone art exhibition in Clahane, Co. Clare, which took on a life of its own. I was absolutely delighted to be able to take part, to give something small back to a place from which I have received so much. Each time I left a robin, it found its way to a new home! So I just kept replacing them. I'm so happy if they brought a moment's solice to somebody's day. I think Anne particularly liked this little one. Modeled on my granddaughter Annabelle who loves to fly her kite in West Clare. May I not go to His Heaven. Falling man Potential interrupted Single act of desperation. Hope abruptly flung out the window! Another light extinguished. Public face Of private terror Emblazoned image Enduring. You confronted death In one graceful mid-air leap Into the arms of Morpheus Flying man! DECEMBER 2019 Sibling Rivalry (or Carmel, Joan, Betty, Bernie and Anne :-)). OCTOBER AUGUST/SEPTEMBER This is the latest oil painting and it has found a good home. Beneath the Cherry Blossom (SOLD) JUNE & JULY These were very busy months but with a challenge from ARTLIMERICK for a pig painting, I managed to produce these two little watercolours MAY Montbretia along the West Clare coast at sunset APRIL APPROACHING THE ROCKS (THE SKELLIGS) Approaching the rocks (The Skelligs) Oil on stretched canvas frame OILS - ON SHOW IN CASEYS, RAHEEN, LIMERICK FOR APRIL AND MAY I found this challenge really helped my and informed my painting in other mediums. I learned that it is so important to get your drawing right before you apply paint. The process is use: Complete the drawing of your subject paying particular attention to composition. Draw a subject you like and one where you can visualise the outcome. Mask off any areas
